Dogs From 9/11 - Another Kind of Hero

See video added after picture -

In loving memory of all those who lost their lives 11 years ago today. Nearly 100 dogs worked at the trade center eleven years ago; only 12 are left. These are the surviving dogs that worked the trade center and are still alive but retired, they are heroes too, their eyes say everything you need to know about them. Just amazing creatures True heroes of 9/11 still with us today...

I remember hearing of when they were ferrying people over to New Jersey after the towers fell. They put comfort dogs on the ferries to give people something to hug, maybe get a lick in the face, or just to feel anything other than what had to be nothing less than utter devastation. In looking at this photo, it occurred to me that the civilians weren't the only ones who needed that.

This dog, who worked in NY after 9/11
is now 16 years old and the last surving rescue dog.
