The weather may not be what you call beach friendly, but that is not stopping a horde of Hollywood stars from invading the shores of Weston-super-Mare.
With legends such as King Kong, Alfred Hitchcock and Scarface all scrambling for the best spot on the seaside, it is set to be the most densely celebrity-populated beach on the Bristol Channel coast.
Batman, Yoda and Pirates of the Caribbean’s Jack Sparrow have all come together for the annual Sand Sculpture Festival gracing the beach at Weston-super-Mare in Somerset – or at least their sandy clones have.
The master: Alfred Hitchcock is portrayed with one of his 'birds' on the beach in Weston-super-Mare
Old and new school:
Sculptures from the latest Hollywood blockbusters,

Sand sculptors are working hard to finish their creations on the beach, all following this year’s Hollywood theme.
Other idols featuring in the annual festival include Gollum from Lord of the Rings, the characters from Harry Potter (including the Hogwarts castle) and children’s favourites from Toy Story and Ice Age.
Since the festival started in 2006, themes have included Fairy Tales, The Continents of the World, Under the Ocean, Great Britain, and The Jungle.
What began with two Dutch sand sculptors building a giant King Kong from 30 tonnes of sand has now turned into a world famous get-together of some of the niftiest hands in sand sculpting.
More than 20 of the world's greatest sculptors from nine different countries are working away using 4,000 tonnes of sand from the beach.
The festival opens to the public on Good Friday and will stay open until the end of September.
Sands of time: Sculptors are hard at work bringing Hollywood's finest to life on the chilly beach at Weston-super-Mare creating life like portraits of Batman and the Hulk, left, the stars of Toy Story, centre, and Sid the sloth from Ice Age, far right
Stare of Smeagol: Gollum is nearly ready for the festival's opening this weekend where organisers hope visitors will not be deterred by the freezing Easter weather
Super sculptures: Batman and The Incredible Hulk flex their muscles on the beach trying to impress the Hollywood totty, such as Marylin Monroe, surrounding them
